Mike Reeder

Archadeck Brand President Featured in Qualified Remodeler

As someone who spent many years of his life working in the hospitality industry, Mike Reeder was ready to move on to a new challenge. With the understanding that other industries are lacking in the customer service area he knew so well, Reeder chose to get into remodeling and construction for homeowners.

For nearly 15 years, Reeder owned and managed an Archadeck franchise in Columbus, Ohio. Starting his franchise ownership with one administrative employee, Reeder built a thriving deck and patio customer company over the years.

Reeder then sold his franchise to an employee and moved on to become Archadeck brand president for Empower Brands, Archadeck’s parent company. He now teaches new franchise owners about the brand’s time-tested sales processes that have been honed over 40 years.

Brand President Mike Reeder Speaks About Growth Mindset

Qualified Remodeler recently featured Reeder in an article on growth mindset, hoping to gain some bits of wisdom from someone with a clear motivation for success.

His top pieces of advice include:

Adhering to and going above standards. All Archadeck projects are structured in accordance with the local jurisdictional code, but Reeder added that they build above the code regardless, for a better and safer result that customers know to rely on.

Look for true team players. Experience in the industry isn’t necessarily the most important thing; successful franchisees have previously managed people and understand how to build strong teams with people who care. The skilled labor involved can be taught.

Know how to adapt. Part of Reeder’s coaching includes accounting for unpredictability, not only in the pricing of jobs but also in the services offered and the people hired.
